The first stage Germination focused on formulating a new basic attitude in relation to the forest. As long as the forest is seen only as a source of raw materials, it is impossible to develop a nature-inclusive and socially equal relationship between humans and the forest. The intrinsic values of the forest are the starting point for a team of experts on rewilding, indigenous and decolonial perspectives, Rights-for-Nature movement, and local forest management to “germinate” a new ground attitude. The seminar Doorbomen#2 and five workshops, which took place in and around the installation Assembly of Trees, led to the manifesto The Forest Speaks; fundamentals of the forest.
